This is the digital download containing the files and directions on how to make this "Shallow Flow Bowl" on a wood CNC router machine. NOTE: Vectric VCarve version 11.0 is required! The VCarve File is setup with the model and all appropriate tool paths to make this project. Some knowledge of VCarve is required, but the directions cover all the basic details on how to generate GCode for your particular CNC machine, and this could be a good first time project that involves two sided machining of a bowl.
NOTE: The stock is 2" in height. A bit with 2" or more below the holder is highly recommended to avoid collisions! 2.5" long bits with 2" below the holder should work okay, but 3" overall length bits would be safest!
I also include the alternative Fusion 360 file and directions, in case you want to make it using that process instead of Vectric VCarve File. This is the same thing as listing https://www.etsy.com/CorbinsWorkshopStore/listing/1503456681/shallow-flow-bowl-cnc-files-and - I just use each version to track which people prefer to purchase.
The photos are from actual pieces that I machined on my Avid CNC. I used various woods: maple, cherry, redwood and a glue-up of multiple woods.
Included: Detailed step-by-step directions PDF on how to make this bowl. The directions list all required bits and materials. In general, you will need at least a 1/4" spiral up cut bit, and a 1/4" ball nose bit.
Update: I also added an STL export of the model for people with other CNC CAM software.
The stock size is 9.5" x 9.5" x 2".
You are welcome to make these bowls and sell them.
